p.s i've removed the guard that was across my grille which has increased airflow to my airbox, was this 'the snow guard'?
pleased i'm not the only one that loves these engines but i wont be stopping at a panel filter like i say i want 200bhp and then i will be happy lol i have driven a t5 but to be honest i wasn't that impressed at the time i think my 2.0 N/A impreza was better but it had been played with and the t5 was bogo standardeo

Loud is offensive - VERY offensive. Sure I could understand you wanting to tune it a bit (although again thats modification and thus higher insurance which you claim you can't afford) but what is the point if in a year you're looking to change to another car if you can then afford the insurance?

I'd say use the car as a run around, save some money and THEN get the next car you'd like and have some money left over to mod it!

Must be said though one thing I like about 850 engines is how QUIET they are. No loud tractor sound, no misfiring sounds, just quiet smooth running. Foot to the floor and it opens up like a racing car sound. Best of both worlds.
Loud is offensive??? Not half as much as what comes out of your mouth

Just not that keen on loud cars myself - Had to put up with a lot of them and after a while you get a bit annoyed with them!

Not really negative but never understood those who drive round with booming exhausts - especially at 3am!

My original post was written at quite a late time that day, I'd also had a long day at work and was shattered!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all up for power and speed but in the right place at the right time!
