I know I have asked once before, but want to check again before taking the plunge.
I need to find out an SRS Fault light on my 2003 Volvo S40 1.9D

The general consensus is Vida Dice.
My problem is, I only have a work laptop which is running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and if I plug any USB devices in I have to get it cleared by IT (this is not too much of a problem), and I'm running IE11.

From what I see from our Chinese suppliers, they are saying you need Windows 7 Pro 32-bit and IE9.

Do I stick with Vida Dice or look at a handheld unit like iCarsoft http://www.scantool-direct.co.uk/ica...tool-i906.html

cheers in advance

Whether you can guarantee getting the right one, I dunno, but for the 1.9D ECU, they are very picky.

I can provide the supplier for my DICE in Latvia (via eBay), he sent me another one free with no complaints when mine didn't work, and it was 2 months after purchase before I had chance to test it.

It's Volvo branded but for £120 or so, I'm guessing it must be a knock-off, even without the official VIDA software licence?

It comes with a VM (correct version of Windows on a disk) so you can use it on any laptop, regardless of the main installed Windows OS, and even on a Linux or Apple machine if you want, but you do need to be able to install the VM software (VMware Player). Although for the sake of an extra £50-£100 or so, you could just buy a cheap used laptop on eBay and use that? And then you can watch pr0n on it.

Win 7 Pro works with VIDA, but you need IE8, which may be a problem for your IT dept

I've just bought myself a DICE unit, works fine with the diesel. Link in this thread http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=228338
You're not that far from me, I'm top of the M23, be happy to plug it in on your car if you want, let me know.
