Default Loss of power V70 2.4 D5

So I have been visiting someone this morning 25 miles away everything great coming back after 5 miles or so I was going down a slip road onto the motorway and the engine didn’t seem to pick up anymore than 60 mph
Didn’t hear any noises NO lights are on the dash the car seems to idol correctly and runs ok apart from this lack of power
Could it be a turbo issue?
If so how do I check. If it’s the turbo?
Where even is the turbo exactly?
Suggestions greatly appreciated

Just realised this could be in the wrong section the car is a 55 plate Mk2 admin please move if needed

The turbo is dead centre towards the lower back of the engine. It will almost certainly not be an actual turbo fault though.
A code read would be ideal or some MAP, MAF and fuel pressure data.

Without that, you're guessing in which case start with a new fuel filter.
I don't like guessing though.

I had similar problem with my C70 couple weeks ago.My garage suggest I change fuel filter as first port of call. Did that and now back to normal.

filters sometimes dont get replaced as the houseing can be very tight it some times feels like it will break or wreck the holding bracket. but its a good cheap place to start if you have no diagnostic equipment. try joining a local volvo group someone will have vida.

You need to start with the basics service items. As Simmy said change fuel filter.

I would also be checking all Turbo boost pipes for splits and check the intercooler.

I've got this exact issue, revs all the way through gears mostly until over 60/70ish then goes dead. It's done it low down a couple of times too.

Had the codes read and brought up some MAF code and low boost pressure. Just a pain as the MAF code can apparently be a million things

Just for OPs info, if you have some pipe wrenches it came straight off for me, getting it on all the way wasn't so easy so I used a strap wrench type thing. Just keep tightening it until it sits flush with the housing. Very straight forward job, sadly this didn't fix my issue
