Exclamation Sensor won't turn off

I had a rather strange problem occur today. The audible front sensors activated whilst coming out of my driveway and then just wouldn't stop! I had to drive around with them continuously beeping. I tried turning the car on and off which didn't stop them unless the car was locked. The minute the car was unlocked the sensors started again. I then cleaned the sensors with a cloth and water, again this did not make any difference. I then rang two dealers for advice, one of whom told me if cleaning didn't make a difference to call Volvo on call, the other dealer told me to turn the car off for ten minutes and if that didn't work to book it in to the workshop. Needless to say Volvo on call were quite surprised I had been told to call them and asked me to go back to the dealer.

I later then messaged Volvo via the app and was given the advice of resetting the infotainment screen. This did the trick. I thought I would share in case anyone else has this problems and has to go round the houses for a solution.

I had similar with my front sensors. After a couple of trips to the dealer they ultimately replaced the wiring loom for the front sensors. No problems since. Apparently moisture gets into the wiring.

What FW version of AAOS do you have? I had the same problems with the FWs 1.9 and 1.10. I had to reset system several times a week. The FW 2.0 solved the problem and it has not happened again so far.

Updates in software V2.0
  • Android R. This operating system version includes new functionality and new app categories.
  • In-car functionality:
  • OTA software updates: Updates will now install automatically after the car is parked and locked if you select “Install” while driving. Previously, a prompt was required for installation to start.
  • Switching profiles no longer disturbs the navigation view in the driver display.
  • Audio system stability improvement.
  • Stability improvements of climate timers.
  • Radio reception improvements.
  • Camera application stability improvements.
  • Parking sensor bug resolved.
  • Improved centre display shutdown behaviour when locking the car.
  • Mobile app functionality:
  • Lock status stability improvements.
  • Improved accuracy of displayed charging status and battery level.
  • More frequent climate status updates.
  • Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.
