Lost key
I have lost one of the keys and fob for my XC90, it is a 5 button type. My local dealer has quoted me £250+ for a replacement blade and reprogram. Question is, do I have to go down this path or are there alternatives? I have seen fobs on eBay but are they reliable? TIA

The dealer is the only place which can do this and erase the lost key/remote , you have one of the most secure cars in the world. With the system used, volvo sweden know exactly who does what and where and when to your key system ..

can buy one from ebay, but has to be brand new and unused. remote comes with 13(don't remember exact number)digits code. blade has to be new and obviously uncut. both are about 50 quid each on ebay. software price is about 15(key) and 30(remote) quid plus programming.

Something that may be worth checking -
Does your HOME insurance cover loss of personal belongings / keys ? Just a thought :-)

Aviva insurance usually covers loss of keys with no loss of NCD or I believe, excess
