Default turbo failure

hi guys, just a quick question or two,
anyone got experience of turbo failure on a d5 engine?
if so what were the symptoms that led up to it?

I had a turbo fail on a ford C-max. No symptons whatsoever im afraid, just bang and smoke in the outside lane of the motorway!! I managed to stall the engine to stop it running away and managed to save it!!

Best advice for all it ALWAYS let your car idle still for a minute after a long drive.
