Hi, this thread IS THE GUIDE for how to replace this sensor.
Part costs less than a fiver and is easy to do if you have ever soldered. There is a link on page one that gives you the rs part number. I fixed mine last year and its been faultless since. |

For the cost of the part i would buy a thermistor or two and then dismantle the car...shame to take it to bits and then have to do it all over again once you have bought it.
the thermistor is tiny, think the size of the blobs on womens hair clips with two single strands of copper wire and that it. |

Sounds a plan.
Tried vacuuming out the grille and blowing hot air in with a hair dryer, all to no avail. Haven't had chance to take it off yest but took a photo, not sure but it could be broken. Oh well, another job to add to the list. Surprised the Volvo Dealer that upgraded the software just last week didn't say anything about this, unless its happened as a result of the software upgrade? |

Well I can see the two wires, but no blob. I can also see what looks like a lump of congealed solder where the blob should be, but its really tricky to tell from the pics.
Get the bits, take it to bits and then see from there. Good news is that no reprogramming is needed...just fix it and go! |

Will do, rather spend £5 or £10 on thermisters to exhaust all avenues before shelling out for a new CCM
Thanks chb |
