  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

@hooded claw: If we are going to start relying on experience and qualifications top trumps for whose opinion counts, then I see your "burning stuff engineer" and raise you my Leeds university degree in physical and organic chemistry (with additional research into the flow dynamics of irish stout).
Seriously though, these magnet things are bad science. They do not work and if you think they do then try looking up placebo effect.
Hydrocarbons are not ionic in nature, however some of their side chains may be. This however has zero relevance to combustion. Even if the magnets aligned the molecules (they dont, but lets pretend they do) then in molecular terms they have to move a massive distance to the point of combustion (the burners or combustion chamber) so any alignment would be lost.
So sadly this is a method that is testicular in nature.
Oh...Bill take a chill pill. I am sure he would buy a picnic table if they did a matching tartan picnic rug.
