  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Thumbs up Xc90 iphone help please folks

Hi All,

Expert advice req please.

I've got a XC90 56 plate. Its got a aux port in the cup holder to connect to the stereo I suppose. Can I and if so how do I connect my Iphone to it. The aux port is a single hole and under a rubber cover. All I want to do is get the iphone on the stereo, please help

Very simple. You need a 3.5mm jack to jack cable (maplin) and plug one end into your iphone and the other into your aux port. You then select aux from the right hand audio source button and you are away. Don't forget to play with the volume controls to get the optimum setting as it can sound pretty crap if you have, for example, a low volume on the main system and a high volume on the iphone. I don't know about the 56 plate but it is worth checking in the glove box to see if you also have a usb port.

Volume set to full on the iphone should not sound bad, it will stay stable across the sweep from min to max.

Turning the volume down on iphone and ramping up the car to compensate will create fuzz though.
