'16 XC60 Mystery Cable

Hi everyone,
I've just bought a used '16 XC60 D5 AWD. While doing my usual crawl through everything to see what's where in the car I came across this cable that isn't plugged into anything. As far as I can tell everything on the car works as it should so I'm guessing that it's for an optional extra that I don't have. Just wondering if anyone could tell me what it's actually for?

This is inside the left panel in the boot of the car.

Might be for the optional boot 12v outlet

I thought that could be it but according to the manual the 12v outlet would have been installed on the right of the boot. Or is this not the case for UK models? Anyone with the boot 12v outlet able to confirm where there's is?

If that is the case that would be great and I'd happy just get one installed myself.

Towbar electrics maybe ?

Yep, your right 12v power supply is on the O/S (right) Mostly likely something to do with Towing electrics which are on the N/S.

Not sure what is actually for but I can tell you it's a 12V permanent live as I have used it on mine to power the reversing camera I fitted.

Towbar would make sense 12v live to power the Fridge I guess.

Fridge wiring is ignition controlled otherwise it would run the battery flat in no time at all.

An much higher current than that cable looks capable of......
I have towing pack so might have a look see if mine is loose too....

I have the same loose cable. I also have the tow pack fitted so it's nothing to do with that.
How about remote CD changer (which I don't have) ?
