How easy is it to replace the seals on the driver & passenger door windows please?
They seem to be readily available from Brook House and others
Regards Richard

Do you mean the guides the window slides in or the rubber trim at the top of the door

Hi, I mean the seals at the bottom of the window frame which have deteriorated and let rain in.

If you have access to Amazon Cars Instructional video library ( no longer free sadly) there is a very good clip on replacing these seals. It is a very fiddly job and very time consuming. The seal set comes in 2 pieces for each door, an inner and an outer piece. The window glass must first be removed ( see green book body section). Then the inner window surround must be removed ( approx 15 Philips head chrome plated screws. The outer seal is now accessible and is held in place with tiny Philips head screws( probably rusty!) remove these and the seal can be extracted from the door frame. The inner seal is stapled to the already removed window surround. These staples must be carefully removed. I used very small countersunk s/s screws to replace the staples, to hold the new seals in place. Care must be taken to counter sink these new screws or they will scratch the window on winding it up and down. Good luck 👍

This link may get you by the Amazon Cars paywall.

I did it as part of a door refurbish. It is a bit tricky as it is a 3 piece installation. There is a flat piece that gets glued to the door frame and acts as a soft stop between the glass and the frame. The felts are screwed onto the frame with very small screws.

You can try to remove the interior window surround (held on with screws) and look over. My feeling, however, is that you will need/want to replace the felts that the glass slides in, especially the front one next to the vent window. That is a bigger job and requires removal of the door handles, armrest and door card.

See starting at post 159 for what it is worth. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...t=door&page=16

Think it’s £3 a month to watch all the Amazon cars content and you can cancel any time
