Default [V70R] Nivomat and alternative

Hi,

Some of you alread saw that I'm looking for rear Nivomats of V70R AWD

Due to the facts that:
- They are complicated to find AND in good conditions
- They are expensive delivered in UK / Europe from Viva ($735 excl Tax)

I'm looking for alternatives

I will receive TME springs that will needs Nivomats or equivalent, so change to standard springs and shocks for AWD won't work on that case.

I have seen this .. thing:
Air shocks Nivomat conversion
I know a little bit about air ride etc
It seems it miss compressor and air tank at least!

Does already some of you use that?

Those are Monroe Ride Levellers.
They have no compressor, although a small compressor can be fitted.
They pump up from a compressed air line to compensate for load.

They tend to be used with standard springs for people who carry heavy loads or tow a heavy caravan, etc. Not sure how well they'd manage with a Nivo spring as they are much weaker.

Ok, so you don't think it is a good idea to replace my nivomats today.

Not unless you're going to use a standard spring

Niav

Did you try FRF in Swansea ? Whilst I would not use them if they were the last dealer on the planet I would not wish to deny you the opportunity. I think you should be looking at £650ish delivered ?

Like you say Viva only work out good value if you are not paying the import duty and VAT.

Sides what would you do in Niav's position ? I took the view that Nivos are there for a reason ( not unusual fir me to have a tonne of logs in the back ) and as I aimed to keep the car for 3 years made sense to splash out. This aside strikes me you have all sorts of hassle trying to side step on an AWD.

And how do you rate the XC90 ?

As I'm in France, it won't be easy to push them to send those parts. It won't be a language issue, but lot of people do not like to send parts overseas.
