Default Reverse to Forward clunk

The car = S80 2.4 D5 SE Auto

When the engine is warm I get a delayed action clunk into gear when I change from reverse to forward and vice versa. It is a disconcerting clunk and I spoke to my main dealers about it and they said they would change the gear oil which I thought was a bit hit and miss and so it was it seems as the clunk is still there. Anybody else experience the same and what causes it and is it a cause for alarm.

I occasionally get this on my on my 1999 2.9SE auto. Its normally smooth if you change from D to R and keep your foot on the brake for a second before giving it some throttle. But if you jump on the accelerator straight away, like when you have stuck your nose out to see at junction and there is a 40T artic coming, you get an almighty clunk. I think this is common in most automatics, you have to be completley stationary before changing. I wouldn't worry about it, just take your time.
