Did today: drivers side wishbone bushes (see above) / test drive

New spark plugs, no noticeable difference but im hoping it might improve mpg a point or two. old ones were champion, worn and blackened evenly across all plugs which I guess is a good sign. no idea how long they've been in

I will be attempting to replace my battery as random circuit/performance codes keep popping up.

created rear seat tidy with cup holders and two sections for books / toys, to go between kids booster seats in back

To be finished and upholstered in due course

plus, received Osram 150% main beams and dipped headlights because originals are dismal to say the least and I'm in the lake district in July. dark country lanes with the way ahead lit by candles, no thanks

1 x set new tyres from Black Circles - Dunlop Sport BluResponse 195/65 R15 H(95) Reinforced
£325 all in, inc. fitting, balance and front wheel alignment

not a particularly sporty tyre but perfectly good for this barge

also received; primer + spray paint ('Bavarian anthracite' ooo) and gold caliper paint. to tidy up the overall image

also one of those rubber 'wonder wheels' because I'm going to remove the branding, spray black and refit. or just remove. tbc

I have no reason to suspect it being an issue, there's not really much to adjust, nothing has been replaced, all the bushes seem ok.. I suppose I might get it checked at some point but it seemed like an unnecessary cost at this point tbh

Yeah fair enough like I say I don't have reason to believe it's ever been changed from the factory setup, it's all original down there. Cars only done like 3k per year on average and seems to have been garaged in between..

If you let go of the steering wheel it just carries on straight (barring Road camber etc) so I'm happy it's all fine

Replaced the 12N socket for my trailer lighting. even though I have had the car for two years, i never got around to testing the lighting. My father wanted to trailer a boat down to the river, so though i had better see.

On plugging in, Stop light always on on one side, left hand indicator not working. Ran contunuity tests on the wires back to the control module, which confirmed nothing on the yellow wire, and brown and black returning the same.

On inspection behind the socket, I could see that the bracket had been bent back (towards the front of the car) and this had crushed the cable between the underside of the car and one of the mounting screws. As expected, all mounting screws were rusted solid. Ordered new 12N socket. Cut old socket off with my dremel like tool. Rewired new socket, and everything is good as new. Strapped cable out of the way of the mounting screw to prevent recurrence!

Nice job to do in the sunshine this morning
