Default Main beam issues

Hi all, I have just bought myself a 2005 XC90 T6, fantastic car in my opinion, however after a week of faultless driving I noticed my flash wasn't working, I then tried my main beam, again nothing, not even raising let alone lighting up.

Have checked the fuses, they are ok.

My question is:
Does the XC90 have a headlight relay?
If so does anybody know its location?

Hope somebody can help.

Many thanks

check which position the headlight switch is on, it changes the functionality and options of the headlights, I keep mine at vertical, then everything works all the time.

hope it helps

Thanks TruckbusUK,

I have just checked and it is vertical. I don't even get the blue light on the dash!

There is a high beam relay, its CM14 it can be found in the panel up under the pedals on the drivers side.

If I could find out how to add a picture I would

Checked and recheck John, nothing other than fuses. I'm beginning to wonder if it has one.

I have an executive, don't know if that makes a difference.

A Volvo technician is going to call me from my local dealership, I bet he doesn't.

Cheers

Your looking in the wrong place, not the panel at the end of the dash, you have to take off the panel that cover the lower part of the dash board, its got the footwell light in it there are 2 screew that hold it on, then look up under there, its another panel that you have to release with a screw driver. If I could add a picture it would be so much clearer.

Hi John it was the foot well panel area I checked, haven't even checked in the dash end panel yet.

Thanks for the link though.

Cheers Andy

If it IS a volvo 2005 model year then there are no relays the CEM controls the main beams direct there are 2 fuses in the CEM , one for each side , F 22 and F 23 ..

If you have a 2004 it is relay CM14 in the CEM ( the black module above the accelerator pedal )
