Tailgate struts 2013 XC60

Hi everyone, both powered struts have failed over the last year, one snapped and after and few months of struggling on one strut the other has seemingly ceased. I bought some £20 gas struts hoping they'd be a cheap replacement but the cups at the top end were too big , so my question is , is there a replacement gas strut for a powered tail gate ?

2012 XC60 D5 AWD. The original fixing balls on mine are both 10mm diameter!
If you can unscrew the cup on the strut you bought then you can buy differing strut cups on eee bay. Check threads etc though.

I am told on some xc60s with auto struts some fixings are 8mm diameter ball fittings. You can also buy these struts on eee bay. Check well though.

I had same prob. These fit if both ball fittings are 10mm dia.
Pm me with your number if you wish so I can call you, little more knowledge is needed as you also need to buy a pair of new strut end fittings. 10 mm ball but an 8mm thread.
This is to move the fixpoint on the tailgate to get more head room on the lift height so you don't bang your head!!
