Default XC60 3 month service?

Noticed in my service handbook today that the selling dealer had entered my first service should be at 3 months or 2k miles. Is that right, I thought it was 12.5k servicing?

I believe that that's the free check-up - gives them the opportunity to put right any snags and answer any questions you have.

Assuming the petrol service interval is the same as diesel, then it should be every 12 months / 18,000 miles.

Thanks! Won't matter if I'm late then as no time at the moment to get it in with Xmas coming up.
The one thing I will be using is the scratch repair insurance. First time I've ever taken it out but got 2 pea size chips on the bonnet from an over exuberant lorry driver on one of those newly surfaced chipping roads!

Ive never took any of my Volvo’s for this 3000 mile check, only worth it if you have an issue.

Nor me. I don’t think they actually do anything.

It is a free inspection and not mandatory so it doesn't count for anything ... attached is what is involved ...

As a new convert to Volvo I queried this 'service' with my Dealer and they advised that unless there was something which was bothering me that I needn't bother. I listened to their advice, although I was suprised that they offered it as it would have been something they would have charged Volvo for, so I didn't bother.

That was violating their franchise agreement with volvo ! you really should have taken this service as you get something for nothing ... which is rare these days
They turned you away because it saves them money and the hassle of having you disrupting their main work ! The dealer pays for the check over and wash etc not volvo ...

Interesting point - my dealer (in the Borders), first class in all respects thus far, stated I did not need this check unless there was an issue requiring attention. Seems like a variable policy across the dealership network.
