XC90, 08, Radio code not needed?

Just returned from Halfords to ask about fitting my Parrot bluetooth to see what leads they had,Guy offered to fit my unit with their leads on the spot but I declined as I don't have the radio code(read on here it is required) I have the hi performance radio fitted,no Dolby,amp under drivers seat and he said He'd fitted a few of these and they do not have a coded radio? Is this correct because its what has been delaying me fitting my bluetooth kit

The radio can be properly reworked whit online Volvo radio code generator for free!

You don't have a security code.
The XC90 entertainment system works on serial numbers.
The radio screen and the amplifier and the CEM know their serial numbers, and if any serial number is changed (through fitting of a different device) then the device will not work.

The system self-secures itself through the knowledge of the authorised serial numebrs
No issues disconnecting battery or having a flat battery

...... and it does not use standard ISO connections so a lead from Halfords is unlikely to work unless they order a model specific one in.
