Default V60 brake "pulsing"

When I brake normally in my 2022 V60 mild hybrid diesel, at around 40mph there is a "pulsing" felt in the car - as if you were pumping the brake pedal rapidly, not through the steering wheel or the brake pedal
I asked the dealer whether the front discs could be warped but they dismissed it (without checking) adding that it is the way the regenerative braking system works.
I understand how it all works.....but surely it should do it smoothly ?

My v60 non hybrid has had now 8 pairs of front disks in 18 months for this exact issue.

No other car I've ever had has had this, seems caused by a combination of gentle application of the brakes plus poorly made hubs. I've tried a number of brands, including genuine Volvo, and it's done it on all of them between 2000 and 4000 miles of fitting.

8 pairs.... bl**dy hell ...so much for the dealership comments that they dont have any problems
I think this needs more investigating, if indeed it is caused by light braking it will be worse on mild hybrid cars as they use more generator braking to recharge the 48V battery.....oh dear.....
Would your car be the same shape as mine or is it the earlier one ?

I have 2021 B4 Petrol V90. There is no "pulsing" felt in the car when braking.

I did have a couple of days when there was a thumping from a rear wheel under braking on my previous generation diesel hybrid V60.

This was where the car had been standing for 3 weeks and rust had built up in the surface of the rear disks. Fixed by going out for a country drive and braking hard and moderately hard for half an hour to remove the rust.

This might be worth a go ?

(Ps North Berwick = salty sea air?)

Could it be the ABS cutting in much earlier than it should?

I go back to my post above. Or try leaving it in park without the handbrake on if it's sitting in salty air. Do you hose down the brakes through the wheels during winter months?
