Broken m90 gearbox
Hello.
I am looking into doing a gearbox comversion as I want to move into big power and hear the m90 is not mega strong. I plan on drifting the car so wanna have something that can take punishment. Basically I need a m90 gearbox so I can cut the bolt pattern off and use as template for adapter. So basically need a broken one cheap or if someone has one and they wanna cut a couple of inches off the front and post it. That would be great. Cheers. |

we drift 2 940s with M90s, just weld the stop ring and I think you will be surprised. If you are going much over 400hp then maybe you have an issue

What's all involved with welding the stop ring. And I know the 850 internals and m90 internals are the same. Yet to find a definitive answer on strength. I am planning 300-350 bhp plus drift. So will get abuse. I plan on potentially going for more next year.
Cheers. |

Fine
I think you'll be fine. Probably up to more than that. People used to say 500 to 600 bhp. Not that I've ever got anywhere near that, my toys are pretty standard. M90s are much cheaper now than they used to be, you'll get one for under a ton and so I suggest you try to break the present one and if you succeed modify the one you put in. Or use the broken one to make the template. I gather the Yanks use a T5 box.
