max 2800rpm even in neutral
I posted a couple of months ago, and got some great help. Thank you!
We tried all suggestions without luck and have since been hunting for a solution. The problem is the car will not rev over 2800 rpm even in neutral. We have plugged it into vida providing codes: low signal on turbo control valve and low signal on glow plug relay. Whilst we had the bonnet open I noticed the back of the pressure boost control valve solenoid was cracked and showing corrosion. I believe the part number to be 7.01771.02 13T269 I can post a pic if that will help. Does anyone know if this pressure control valve could cause the rpm problem? I would appreciate any help. Thank you. S |

My car had the same issue, It was intermittent at first, but then became more and more common.
Does the part look like this by any chance? https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/...SABEgJlPPD_BwE If so, then yes, that will cause your issue. I changed mine for a genuine one (made by pierburg?), and fixed the issue. Took me about 2 hours on my car (could probs do it in 30 mins, now I know where its located, and how to get it off), though, I had to get under the car to get to it. On some cars I believe it is accesible from the top of the engine bay. Which I imagine makes it far easier. Hope that helps, Cheers, Phil

Posted a link to component
Thanks for the reply Phil
The part to which I am referring can be seen here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRESSURE-...19.m1438.l2649 It is actually situated 8" to the right of the oil filler cap on top of the engine and doesn't look like the one in your picture. Due to the poor condition of the one on my car I am going to order the above part anyway. Updates as they happen! S |

I believe they are the same thing, just for different engines. The one I linked is what the T5 engine's look like, and situated under the car. But like I said, I am aware some cars have them in the engine bay, which is likely your engine.
The symptoms you have where the same as mine, and replacing that part fixed the issue for me. Best of luck with it, hopefully it will be a easy fix if its on top of the engine.
