Default XC70 algae/mildew in rear lights

Hi all,
Have a 2014 XC70 which was purchased about 2 years ago. When I bought it I noticed that the rear light clusters had algae growing between the seams but on the inside so impossible to remove. I elected to buy new rear lights and have now noticed algae growing in them
also!! Only 2 years old. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove it? Maybe something drastic like squirting some bleach inside the light so it soakes into the seams?

Hot soapy water and a toothbrush or nailbrush to get in the edge. You'll need to remove the light to do it. Best to do it before it gets too bad.

Thanks for your reply. I think the algae is inside the housing seams not underneath. This is why I replaced the lights when I bought the car as they had the same issue. Impossible to get at from the outside. I would have thought more people would have experienced this as it seems like a design weakness.

Milton Fluid is good for that type of job.
