A cheaper option...
I've got a 530 head complete (inc T cam, valves etc) in good condition, a 530 head complete (as above) needing a core plug (the one under the distributor), and a complete B230FK engine - all available
£50 + p&p for good head £40 + p&p for one needing a core plug £100 for the engine (which is complete but for the exhaust manifold, turbo, IAC - but inlet side is complete, and comes with dizzy) I'll be listing them in the correct place shortly NB The 530 heads fits B200FT, B230FT, B230FK

Hi Caveman. No problem. Most Volvo redblocks made since 1990ish were fitted with the 530 head. This is actually quite a good, efficient design for a standard engine. Back in the mid-late 80s, the 740 turbo cars were fitted with a 531 head. This is pretty much identical to the 530, except that the inlet tracts are smoother and the spark plugs are located more centrally.
The smoother inlet tracts means greater potential airflow at high rpm (so if you can supply more fuel to match the higher airflow, you end up with more bhp - this requires fuel & ignition chips with larger maps, plus ideally bigger injectors). The spark plug location is better in that is allows a fuller, cleaner burn - which again equates to more bhp. (The best place for a spark plug is the centre of the combustion chamber). Otherwise the 530 and 531 are identical - same water channels, same external size, same bolt holes, etc - its a straight swap.
