The other thing to consider is the state of charge and the general condition of the battery including corrosion on the terminals & earths. When my old 850's battery going towards flat, turning the key to position 1 or 2 would fully drop all four windows.

As yours is the cabrio the other possibility is the windows/roof control module - as you raise or lower the roof, the windows are supposed to drop around 3 to 5cm,. A module faulty can fully drop the windows on opening/closing the roof as well as stalling the roof opening/closing.

Hi, I have read about the roof module however my roof opens and the windows drop and raise just as they should, no problems there. I will consider the battery as well because i suspect the battery is a bit under powered for the car as previous owner had replace with a cheap halfords battery 56 ah i think, even tho i think its in good health. i will give the battery posts a good clean also, I have checked all the wiring for the door, and had a little look at the switch unit and this looks fine and clean. I have also check all earth straps and points on the car, the ignition switch and wiring the relay for the windows, so im coming to a loss as to why it dose it, Mine only dose it in pos 1 if i click the key to pos 2 it stops and the dash lights up like normal. its very strange and annoying if i forget about it. Thanks for your input guys. |

Is it worth putting jump leads on to your battery from another and seeing if the same thing happens? If it does then the battery isn't the cause.
