900 Cars: 1990 940 gle

Hi All I am new to the forum so forgive me if this in the wrong section. I have a 940GLE 2.3 auto which has been undercovers in a garage for the past 5 years. It has done 75K miles and is in excellent condition. I am looking to sell it as I already own an S40. Could members give me pointers as how I could find out it's value? I understand there are European sale sites but I do not know where to find these.

The longer and more detailed the better, photos too, price location any work that it has had done etc.

That would indeed be helpful, '360beast', but I think it is something of a chicken and egg situation - 'Volvoman50' is seeking guidance as to his car's value and I suspect a little uncertain regarding a realistic price to advertise it at.

I'm not sure that I am able to offer him much help in that respect other than to say that any car is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it on the day. If I was looking, I would be prepared to spend circa £2000 for a car of that specification in very good condition.

Unfortunately, a car can deteriorate through standing, and, as you say, a full description with accompanying photographs or, better, a physical inspection is required before one could be any more specific.

Look on ebay at sold items of a similar nature. That will give you a starting point. You can then adjust up or down when comparing with your own example. Then look at cars for sale on Car and Classic and the like to see what folks are advertising and the starting price they are hoping to get.
