Default diesel egr??

Iv got a 440 diesel p reg last year i had the headgasket go which i sorted out today the car has developed similar head symptoms, clouds of water on tickover and alot of pressure in cooling system i drove it home on 20mile journey with no loss of power or overheating problems at all. i did top up water occasionally the steam is clear when cruising only returns on idle and when engine under load.
someone said it could be egr valve issue or cooler prob causing pressure in system.
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Also is it possible to remove egr and blank off water cooler??

Did the car originally overheat? Did you check the head and block faces for distortion and visually check for any cracks? If its a renault diesel i expect the heads cracked somewhere, They dont like being cooked, And TBH their older diesels are cr@p, Used to work on a few R18 diesels, The EGR valve will have absolutely nothing to do with this problem, It merely recirculates exhaust gases into the inlet manifold to be reburnt.
