Anyone see the V70 on TopGear ?
£500ish V70, Managed to 'kill' it, principally by driving it through 2' of water. |

i hate it when overpaid muppets wreck cars that a less fortunate person could have had 3 or 4 years more motoring out of . just to make cheap entertainment . unnessacery cr4p

I stopped watching a good while ago. A Maybach with wheel arches full of smoke is NOT entertaining in my book!🥱🥱🥱

are we talking about the Top gear back in the day when it was good? or the ones post clarkson
really the same could be said of the hi-lux they absolutely destroyed, or the megane they literally crashed into another car on purpose. (it's just that we care less about those brands) or the older Volvo (740?) they crashed into a wall at 30mph but then again probably every single one of those things did wonders for the manufacturers and meant increased sales and actually more being made.. so swings and roundabouts really not aware of this V70 one though, I haven't watched in years agreed about maybach lol I fast forward though anything boring like that, rolls royce, Bentely, mercedes S class, etc etc |

It's a new one, it aired in the last couple of weeks.
They bought a bunch of £500ish cars, including a V70, to see how reliable they were. They then proceeded to 'test' them in a rather rough manner, as TV dictates they should. |

Putting it into 2' of water though does seem pointless considering the car is clearly never designed for that purpose
Other than seeing how it would survive flooding damage I suppose. But we all know how problematic the volvos are with electronics it is kind of one of their biggest weaknesses Assuming it was electronic failure that killed it after they did that |

All the cars were due to be scrapped anyway so it's not like they were wasting good cars.
It's just TV and it was only 9 cars when the UK scraps over 1 million a year. They did all agree though that the V70 was lovely to be in and had some of the most comfortable seats - maybe if you're selling one now you might get a bit more interest, as long as the buyer doesn't live near a river. |
