XC60 12v outlet
Hi all,
Wondered if anyone can help with my query? All of my 12v outlets in my XC60 have stopped working so I suspect it's a fuse issue. I know where to access the fuse but the manual states it must be replaced by a qualified technician - does it? Surely it can be done without taking it to a garage? A trip to Halfords for a fuse was all I was thinking. I last used a socket on Saturday for my Sat Nav but when I unpluged it to plug in an air pump everthing stopped working. I'm rubbish with stuff like this so if any of you can point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Thanks, I did see that but i'm sure there's another page in the manual that says that an qualified technician needs to do it as the fuse is in a group associated with circuit breakers?

Not sure what you have read, but I would replace it once and if OK then it was probably your air pump drawing too much power.

Both my 12v outlets died - probably as a result of using a 12v tyre inflator - and I changed fuses myself. The tricky bit is that they are fiddly to pull out; long-nosed pliers help. No problem since...

There should be a plastic tool in the fuse box to help you pull the fuses out - certainly is in my fuseboxes

I think there must be a design flaw in this 12v socket. Mine has gone twice in 9 months of ownership and in my old xc90 it never went once!
I'm female, but hate taking the car back to the garage all the time...I like to get on and do what I can myself. Is this easy to change the fuse in this car? Any tips?
