Default fitting a towbar.

i've just bought a 52 plate (p2) v70 2.4 140.
i've also been given a towbar: but no bolts or electrics.

reading around suggests i will have to remove the bumper, anx cut a slot (easy enough).

but...
what size bolts?
do i need nuts?compression tubes through chassis?
strengthening plate in boot?

i'll need a socket + loom, and i'm led to believe i might need a "towing module" - but one might be fitted.
am i as well buying a universal loom + relay box? or going to dealer?

has anyone got some instructions? the ones on volvo cars don"t match my bar.

volvos have all the mountings built into the body only you can determine what is needed , unless it is a volvo towbar then volvo do a fitting kit .

There is a multi plug in the boot for the trailer socket , you might still be able to get the wiring kit from volvo .

The towing module came in 2004 .
just talk to your friendly volvo parts dept .

found a sticker in the box which i'm guessing has fallen off the towbar:
witter vl35.
so i should be able to get fitting instructions from them.

Just to update this thread:
Instructions downloaded from witter, and a cable loom ordered from the bay.

All fitted and now working.

Thanks for the help.

And as a further update, Witter supply new fixing kits for their towbars with all the nuts and bolts as originally supplied or check out the parts list on their fitting instructions for the bolt sizes.
