Default C30 D2 (2013 Model) Oil Change (and filter) Instructions

Remove the plastic engine cover (it just unclips and lifts off)

Unscrew the oil filler cap

Remove the rubber bellows between the airbox and the turbo inlet (at the gearbox end of the engine) by loosening the jubilee clips.

The oil filter housing is then exposed, pointing up at a 45 degree angle towards the passenger side. It is a paper insert type, enclosed by the housing on the engine block and the removable plastic cap with a large hex head (27mm) on it

Have a supply of rags ready to catch any spillage

Remove the sump plug and drain the oil. It should be at least 30 degrees C and left to drain for at least 5 minutes (ideally run the engine beforehand then allow it to stand to let it cool down and allow the oil to drain back to the sump).

Refit the sump plug (38Nm torque)

Fit the paper filter into the housing on the engine and then refit the cover and new O ring which should have come with the filter (35Nm torque)

Refit the turbo inlet bellows and tighten the jubilee clips

Refill the engine with oil - the specs given in VIDA are for 3.9 litres of ACEA A5/B5 0W-40 (they recommend Castrol Edge Professional). It says to make sure it reaches the MAX mark on the dipstick but given the issues with oil dilution on DPF regeneration I would fill it slightly under.

Refit the filler cap, run the engine and check the level again.

If the level is OK, refit the engine cover.
