Default convertible roof problem

I have a 03 C70 soft top. After driving the car all winter i tryed to but the roof down today but with no joy! The light on the switch to put the roof down is not coming one when pressing! (nothing happens when u press it) I checked the main fues's but all seem ok! Called Volvo garage but was told they need to put the car onto the computer at a cost of £100 to see what the fault is alone!
Can anyone help me with this problem or tell me where to start!
Also is there a way to manually put the roof down and up?
Be greatfull if anyone could help me on this problem. Thanks

Any sign of a green fliud leak anywhere? I'm not sure about the C70, but the Saab 9-3 has a pump hidden in the boot behind some carpet. The roof is actuated via hydraulics using this pump. I would guess that either the switch is blown or the pump is giving trouble or there is a leak somewhere.

Edit: I wonder if it might mention in the handbook about manual operation should there be an issue?

It could be the roof switch itself...mines having problems ...i took the switch cover off and used a pen to operate the switch inside and it works perfect ... Still unsure what's wrong with the switch cover itself ...

The ex's Saab 9-3 had a roof storage area which could be strapped up to give you more room in the boot. There was a sensor in the thing which would disable the roof if it was strapped.

By removing the earth to the battery you can, certainly on the 2007 model reset the power roof ECM...
I would try this, provided i had the radio code of course...
