Default Right Side Engine Mount D5 differences?

Hey guys,

I need to replace the upper engine mounts and have just noticed I might have ordered the wrong mount.

My 2010 6 speed auto (TF-80SC) is supposed to have the mount 30793318 which would translate to Lemförder 44741 01. I wrongly seem to have ordered Volvo 31257674, which is for the really early 6 speed automatics (doesn't mention if TF or not, I'd guess it is an older slush box). This translates to Lemförder 43612 01.

The correct part isn't easily available, unless I go through Volvo. Indonesia really fancy doing that. I also can't really imagine that the engine side mount (right hand side) was changed when the transmission was changed. Wouldn't make any sense.

So, long text short question: is there anything different in this area? I mean, would the mount for a D5244T4 differ to that for a D5244T10? Technically they are the same engine block... Just one with 185 the other with 205 hp (okay, one difference would be two turbos rather than one). But other than that?

Cheers

Damien

If they are dimensionally the same, the difference might be in the rubber bushings. Perhaps Volvo found the later engine needed stiffer or less stiff rubber compounds. Are the bolt holes the same or did they alter the bolt strength? Looks like you are going to have to take the old one off and make comparisons with the new one.

That is basically what I have decided to do now. I doubt there are shape differences. It can oy be internal, something like more or less fluid or more or less rubber etc. As it is a hydraulic mount, it might just be the viscosity of the oil inside it. So, we'll have to have a look into it then... Though obviously the slightly wrong mount is still better than a shot one

Alright... Changed the mount and compared the upper one. No differences. So if it there is one, then it is inside. So yeah, we'll see.
