Default Metal root trim clips

Nearly all of my metal root trim clips have rusted away leaving the trim flapping around in the wind. I had them tied down with small cable ties but that leaves wide gaps letting water in the gutter underneath which stays there. I have both off now until I can get the clips.

If anyone has them that would be great, even half rusted should do. We have very few scrapyards around here let alone one with 850. I need around 8 to 10 per side thanks.

Have you looked on Ebay, or even in Halfords? It's surprising what you can find. The other possible source is a windscreen company. If it's the same set-up as a 70-series car then the plastic roof trim strip runs all the way down to the bottom of the windscreen. To replace the windscreen they have to remove the roof trim, which means that sometimes there will be lost/broken clips. I had exactly this with our S70 a few years ago, and it was the windscreen company that sourced the clips.

Cheers

Jack

You took them off, you tell us! I have the same issue, mine haven't gone on in the correct order so there is a slight gap at the curve where A pillar meets roof. Does my head in.

I would guess, from the numbers, that yellow is along the roof, white is down the A pillar, and grey is the one on the curve. But as we know, mine is wrong so this is just a guess!

There are actually 11 yellows:

14 total per side:
11 x yellow
2 x white
1 x grey

Hopefully this diagram will give me a clue:

Derry that is defo the image yoo need !

Steve at Brandon’s sent it to me some months ago but I have been unable to locate for you

When I manage to get my arse up North to pick up a set of rails I shall install - unless Somebody can point me the other way I formed the view from the diagram that the set up with roof rails is different

the metal clips are defo still available and I needs some yellows too - Steve was convinced alll still available - no doubt at eye watering Volvo prices

Let us know how you get on please

There’s also this:
https://varuosad.alvadi.ee/en/vin/YV...rer/4/56453156

…and this guy has some helpful steps in installing it:

http://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-8...or-trim-49493/

Like Cookeh mentioned, this is what I am thinking also, starting from tailgate (a bit like this S80: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/fo....php?t=64898):

10 x yellows along the top – 1 x gray - 1 x yellow – 2 x white

I’ll try that and let you know.

The Woolies clips are very good at grabbing, but they don’t sit in the mouldings flush, leaving a slight gap when you install the trim on the roof. For this I have cut a small opening at the bottom of each the moulding.

Sorry, so the clips are a smidge too tall? Thats a shame, sorry it wasnt a perfect fit. I'll try and find a slightly shorter one. Is it just 1mm or so too tall?.
