Hi,
Have you looked at the V90 Estate/V90 Cross Country? I had an XC60 but found the boot space a bit on the small size when it came to dog crates. I have a V90 T5 Cross Country now. Bigger boot space than the XC60, but lower roof. It reminds me of my 740 estate which I had years ago. Cheers, JBD. |

Don't want to annoy a dealer too much as I'd be waiting for the right spec/colour before doing anything definite but I guess any XC60 would do to confirm if they fit or not. Nearest seems to be about 2.5 hours away. |

Yes it would have to be a V70/XC70 at that price. Both have larger boots suitable for dog crates. Cheers, JBD. |

I replaced my ageing 02 V70 with an 13 XC60 two years ago & never looked back.
The only drawback I had was the height of the boot sill on the X60 in relation to our ageing rottweiler getting in. She'd lost the ability to jump to any height & refused to use a dog ramp , so it was a case of lifting her into the motor.... no mean feat I can tell you. Anyway just something to think about if you have an large elderly dog & your considering buying an X60.

One thing I'm noticing is that they are nearly all Diesel (the XC70 above are all diesel). We'd end up worrying about short journeys. Guess the 10 mile into town would be OK but the 2 mile trip to collect the bairn off the school bus might knacker the dpf. |

Well, been out to a Volvo dealer today to look over various models. Thank you to the young sales guy at Arnold Clark in Stirling.
The bad news is that the two 800 x 560 x 600 high dog cages will not fit in the back of an XC60. Or a V70 Don't want an XC90 really as more expensive to run. Is an XC70 (been told they are very rare) any any bigger than a V70 or just taller? Could be keeping the 940 Estate..... |

why not just use the volvo cages designed properly to house 2 dogs separately in the back .. ? https://accessories.volvocars.com/en...CC-491008/2014

One thing that keeps coming up is nearly every one is diesel and most geartronic. Trying to find a petrol/manual isn't that straight forward. Will keep looking, when the right car comes along I know it. |
