Failed MOT, yesterday
LHF wheel bearing, front lower suspension arm bushes, back box, number plate bulbs.

now really miffed, as bearing and front lower suspension arm are less than a year old.

so new bearing, and bushes ordered. back box too
fingers crossed they'll last a little longer

What brand of parts did you buy?
As far as the back box goes; you'd be better off installing a good one of a different shape than a cheap copy of the original....if the MOT inspectors allow it.

The hub was Lucas, the lower arms, no idea of make,
Ordered SKF hub, Lamforder bushes, cheap back box from the bay of fleas.
Plan to keep it going for another year then change it, for something more suitable

Make sure to inspect the driveshaft seal that goes between the driveshaft and the rear of the bearing. If it's dry and cracked it should be replaced.

Aghh the fault returned - misfire no1 cylinder - replaced the spark plug coil with a genuine Volvo coil from FRF - misfire gone..............all codes erased.

On restart - DTCs remaining shown below - all others no fault found.
CCM-0021 air quality sensor. DTC is found active.
CEM-6C11 Glass break wire signal too low. DTC is found not active.
DDM-0030 mirror motor signal missing. DTC is found active.
DDM-0030 Rear view mirror potentiometer Faulty signal. DTC is found not active.
DDM-0032 Rear view mirror potentiometer Faulty signal. DTC is found not active.
UEM-0004 Siren Communication fault. DTC is found active.

Onward............the only irritating fault is the door mirrors - they go in opposite directions when the fold /unfold button is pushed!
The rest I'll get to later when time permits.

Try the fuse trick. Pull the fuse of one of the mirrors, push the button to move the other mirror in the same position, put fuse back in. Should work

Thank you - I hadn't thought of that. It has just started raining in Kent - I'll try it as soon as it stops and post back.
Cheers

So today I took my car to have a diagnostic check. It struggles to start sometimes, other times it’s fine. Only had it a week so I’m not best pleased but they are mechanical things I suppose.
It’s a D5 V70 auto 2006 with 121000 miles and full Volvo history. I bought it from a used car dealer in Coventry but I live in Liverpool so took it to Merseyswede not too far away from me ( Volvo / Saab specialists.)
Sound blokes! They ran diagnostic check and checked the injectors which were all over the place. £300 each I was told to replace! Does this sound right?
I contacted the dealer I bought it off who understandably wants me to go back to him so his mechanic can sort it. Fair do’s and he’ll loan me a car while it gets sorted.
Also flagged up glow relay?
What does this mean?
The mechanic this morning said it could turn into an expensive job, any previous experiences would be much appreciated.
He also seemed to think there may be a turbo issue cause he said there was hardly any pressure on the turbo pipe when I revved it. He said it should go really hard and pressurised but he could still squeeze the pipe.
Glad i chose a car from a dealer with a warranty!!
Any advice on what these issues might be would be much appreciated.
I love the car though!
Nathan
