Lol, well I won't be taking mine to Volvo for an MOT then.

Unfortunately I've yet to find a garage that knows these cars well, other than Volvo. Sure, there are a lot of guys who will do the basic checks to get it past an MOT but they aren't people who know what goes wrong on these models and I'm sure they always miss things that should have been picked up, they just know cars in general.

at least with Volvo I know they know the cars inside out and it's being done properly. Although I can fully appreciate why people take theirs elsewhere. IIRC Volvo currently charge around £130 per hour of labour which is a joke!

Then I can blend in nicely with all the kids with Corsas and Astras who try to convince the world they own an Audi with those LEDs

£130 per hour is a joke, Alex.

The extra £100 per hour cannot be justified at all.

My mechanic replaced my VVT and all auxiliaries without a hitch and it runs as smooth as it possibly can.

A day in a Volvo dealership's garage would probably equate to the replacement cost of the car, when you add parts to the scandalous labour rate.

Whipped the K&N panel filter out today and replaced it temporarily with a Crossland until the half year service in June.

Just received my insurance renewal for the S40.

Fully comprehensive with protected NCD and just £100 total excess.

Also includes breakdown cover and legal expenses.

£225.81!

Happy man.

As others have said, side markers are only tested for trucks, trailers

I had a crap day with both my Volvos, but at least the wipers won't squeak or catch on the bonnet any more and I've got time to get the other stuff sorted.
