Default Electrical warning lights on lots of sensors

I'm new on here I have a XC60 Auto Lux Nav 2014 which has developed a fault with lots of sensors displayed in the message menu. SRS airbag service urgent, Active main beam temporary unavailable switch to manual, Adaptive cruise control service required, collision warning service required, driver alert service required, headlight system malfunction service required, BLIS and CTA service required, ESC service required. The only other warning lights on are the airbag symbol, anti skid and Active bending light these illuminated.
Has anybody seen this before need some help and advice thanks.

Yes, I have!

My cars been fine since the repair. Any water ingress to the CANbus system would have a similar effect. Earlier models had this issue because the windscreen bonding failed and let water in.

Thanks for your quick response, sounds like a failure with the rear washer system then as apossed to the windscreen. Hopefully i will check the CEM for any ingress of water. I will report my findings thanks once again.

I had this issue last year when my XC60 failed to start & was displaying multiple error messages.
The RAC mechanic checked the battery which was deemed to be ok & also tried a new one.... just in case, but all to no avail so the motor was recovered & taken to the Volvo dealership.
It was off the road for 12 days when with the assistance of Volvo technical the fault was finally diagnosed to be a faulty diode in one of the relays... a head scratcher to say the very least... gotta say tho the service I received from the dealership was first class.

You won't necessarily have signs of water in the passenger footwell. I didn't.

Thumbs up

Just RE read your post Zebster thanks for all your advice, yesterday i was looking by the glove box passengers side footwell around the CEM area and saw no signs of spray/mist when operating rear or front washers. Your post states water managed to penetrate a couple of underdash multi-pin electrical connectors somewhere above the passenger*footwell do you have any other info on where. I'm only getting warning sensors not getting any other issues lopkong you were experiencing. Plus my sensors come on immediately when car is started and never clear themselves, not sure on my next approach!!

I assume the problems would manifest themselves differently depending upon exactly which pins were 'shorted' by water ingress. The connector on mine was able to clear itself and dry adequately overnight until I then unwittingly used the rear washer to again cause the Comms problem.

Or perhaps your issues are nothing to do with water ingress and have a completely unrelated root cause, such as the system voltage being low? Or a CEM fault? Perhaps disconnecting your battery overnight might reset the system?

Volvo dealer was able to quickly identify a Comms error by connecting up their diagnostic equipment.
