V70 Stereo/DVD: - The common radio problem

V70 2006
I have managed for 6 months with an erratic radio but now it has stopped working completely.
I wondered if there was anybody out there who refurbishes them in the UK or if anyone has experience of using the halfords radio fitting service. I love the car but ultimately will end up getting rid of it if I can not find a cheap solution to the problem. Everything else works!
