Brilliant, thank you Downy!

Have read and repeated the fact that the XC bolts are better but had not seen any reason why until now.

Just been under the car to try to see where my clonking is coming from, and found that the tie bar from the chasis to the bottom of the gearbox has 2 bushes. The small one attached to the gearbox is completely shot.So it's off to the dealer next week to get a new one. While im at it, i'll get the driveshaft bolts aswell !

Just got my new driveshaft bolts for my v70 today, and one of the technitions said they should be torque'd up to 26Nm.Earlier threads suggest 50Nm.I did a search and apparently Haynes recommend 35Nm.Any help would be appreciated before i over tighten and break the bolts. Also techy said i should locktight shaft to hub.Is that correct?Just wondering what effect that would have if hub needs to come off.Hope we can get to the bottom of this!

I'll PM you the service bulletin note.

PS - have a look at the thread on the bolts - like in the picture, there should be some yellow 'gunk' on the end - that's the thread adhesive.
The red mesh thing over the thread is just to protect the thread during transportation.
Adding extra thread lock may or may not make any difference - I'm not an expert in molecular adhesive properties, but like most things too much isn't always better!

The bolts have the threadlock on,but are for a v70,rather than an xc90.Just wondering if the torque settings are the same. They look exactly the same as the xc ones, but without the rubber cone.

Is that the pair of bushes with a connection rod from the front crossmember to the bottom of the gearbox? If so,then mine is knackered.I tried the web site, but it wouldn't come up.
Cheers.

Thumbs up

www.quickbrickmotorsports.com TRY THIS THEN GO TO PRODUCTS IT IS UNDER PERFORMANCE LOWER TORQUE(transmission) MOUNT. BUT AS TO YOUR QUESTION THAT IS THE ITEM,YOU HAVE TWO BOLTS AT THE FRONT,TORQUE SETTING IS 65NM +60 DEGREES ANDTHERE ARE TWO BOLTS THAT ATTACH IT TO THE GEAR BOX, TORQUE SETTINGS ARE 35NM +40DEGREES.REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT,THE ONE FROM QUICKBRICKMOTORSPORT IS AN UPRATED UNIT AND MIGHT BE OUT OF STOCK AT THE MOMENT,IF YOU ARE DESPERATE GO TO VOLVO MAIN DEALER.ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO FIT IT IS TO JACK UP CAR,AND THEN REMOVE THE UNDER TRAY,AND REPLACE THE OLD UNIT.

HOPE THIS HELPS Mike

Thanks Mike. Was in volvos the other day to find out about the part. You have to buy the whole thing completeŁ59 plus vat.Storeman said he's never sold one.Am going down to my local bearing factors today to replace the smaller bush with a new one.I can't understand why volvo don't sell them in 2 parts anyway.Anything to do with ripping us off for parts?

Thanks guys.

if your not going to replace the whole unit and manage to get the bushing, then the torque for the two bolts that run through the rubbers are as follows 35nm +90degrees hope you get it sorted.
