Default Bulb Failure, Position Light

Hi all

I had the error message 'Bulb Failure, Position Light' appear yesterday, so had a walk around the car and the rear nearside tail-light was out. After a tap it came back on but the error message won't go away.

How can I reset this please? Please don't tell me it's a dealer visit.

You need to replace it - and it's opposite number.

However if a "tap" brought it back - check the connections.

It's not a dealer visit and nothing needs resetting, it's either not happy with the connection or the bulb is about to fail.

Replacing just the one causes a difference between the resistance of the bulb and it's opposite number due to the age gap and thus the warning doesn't go away...replace them both and it will sort it. ( believe there's two in each tail light - I'd replace all four)

I've just had both bulb holders out and one bulb on the nearside has blown. It just wasn't obvious to me on first glance. Me stupid!

I've replaced all four of the bulbs today and low and behold the message has cleared. I feel like a right dumbass for asking on here now.

Default position light malfunction volvo v40 2013

I changed the position light in the front headlight and it still mentions that there is a position light malfunction, I'm not sure on what to do at this point. May I get some help?
