Rear power (cigarette lighter) socket
Hi
I have a UK-spec 1998 V40 and want to add a 12v power socket/cigarette lighter in the load area for e.g. a refrigerator. I know these are available as optional extras or (possibly) as standard on some models. Therefore can anyone tell me where to locate the relevant wiring and installation point, and wire coding? RE: Rear power (cigarette lighter) socket
Go to Halfords, by a standard cigar lighter, drill a nice little hole and run one wire to earth and one to power. Dead easy, If you have an electrical areal, you've got the wires right there.

RE: Rear power (cigarette lighter) socket
i ran power from battery, fitted inline fuse under bonnet and ran the wires under carpet lifting the plastic covers on doors to get the wires under them and hidden. cigarette lighter socket from maplins and is just left in boot, in the spare wheel area until i need it.
