sound from front suspension v40se
does anyone else hear a hissing sound from their front suspension when travelling slow over bumps with the windows down. sounds like gas/air leaking/being forced out when hitting bumps in the road. is this normal? any feedback welcome. thanks

RE: sound from front suspension v40se
Every car I have owned (Fiesta, 205 CJ, MR2, Spitfire (before suspension conversion), 440 and my V40 have all done this, so I assume that it's normal. If you are concerned about your suspension then try this test.
Lean on each corner and puch down the car, and let go. The car should at most go up, down and back to restinig position. My V40 just goes back to resting position. If you get lots of cycles of up, down, up etc then you have issues with your shocks. Stu |

RE: sound from front suspension v40se
It is just the oil/gas moving inside the shocks that is all.
perfectly normal. It is just more audible on some cars than others. Later, Dan. |
