Articles by me - Paul240480
I must apologise if anyone has recently looked at any of my threads in the articles section.
All of the photos I added along the way have been 'lost' They were all hosted by Photobucket, who 'suffered a glitch' & my account was 'one of a handful' affected. No matter what they try they cannot retrieve my pics The articles are the most important ones. But also my blogs in The Showroom, years of info' & for what it matters any post Ive made with a Photobucket embedded pic have been lost. Just so you all know, it wasn't me that removed the pics from my posts. Thanks

Oh, what a shame, Paul! I trust you still have the originals safe for your own use?

Not many, sadly. Most of them were on my old desktop which died some time back. Replaced with a laptop, but I didn't have the foresight to download 100's of pics from my Photobucket. Lesson learnt!
Still I couldn't (I think) edit the how too's now to replace the pics.......

It's worth checking crawler caches, such as google images, wayback machine, archive.org, etc.
Might be lucky. |

Sorry to hear of your woes. I wonder if such a thing could happen to all those photos stored in clouds? As a precaution I make sure I have a hard drive full of all photos with a back up drive - just in case. Photo bucket is getting annoying to me as there are just so many adverts.

My computer tech has told me that you must save photos at least 3 ways, and if you really value them go old fashioned and print them.

We recently photographed Eynesford ford. The already printed photographs are in and about to be mounted in my wife's album. To be with the photograph from her school outing. Cushti. As it 'appens I have inherited from my parents an old framed set of watercolours including that scene. I do hope that some modern pics might survive as part of people's personal 'istory. I wish that I had understood, and had taken my parents to viist the place. . |
