Default V50 Problems

Hi all

i have the dreaded dpf issue, going into limp mode. The fluid ran out and by the time it was replaced i guess the damage was done. Im going to attempt to clean the dpf an replace the sensor and see how we go
The suspension on the rear has now gone (not sure if both sides yet) and feels like im driving a bouncy castle. Is there a compatible ford part that will be cheaper for me? Just that i will be replacing both and with the dpf being sorted cash is a bit tight
Anyone advise me if Focus shocks are compatible? mine is 2005 V50 2.0d se

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark - you'd be better off with Bilstein B6's car will ride way better! (or any Bilstein product that is)

I have 2 rear shocks up in the loft - one is OK one is a bit tired and not quite right, are you sure both are gonners? one side could be broken and the other OK.

thanks for the reply!

yes i have my mechanic check them on Friday, he was suprised that both had failed. He thinks one had been gone for awhile and the other failed because of the extra work

He is getting 2 on order for me anyway so hopefully that resolves that, next up is the dpf issue

I had 2 codes stored togetehr with "Engine system service required" he checked the dpf fluid tank and it was empty so filled it. The car was going into limp home every now and again

One code was something like DPF sensor requested MIL illumination and the other was Ash accumulation. I checked the connection on the sensor and cleared the codes and now only the sensor code has come back and the ash accumulation code has gone (ive checked regularly in current and pending codes) The car just seems a bit sluggish. I bought a new sensor and was going to fit it when i try to clean the dpf filter. Then i just need to try and find someone with the DiCe to turn the message off and see if it works!

You can't just fill it up, you need dice to tell it that it's been filled.
