What does the MOT have to do with legality?

A car can pass an MOT and still be illegal to use on public roads...

I'm struggling to think what would pass an MOT and be illegal for road use.

Winter and summer on the same axle is allowed but not good practice, radial and cross ply have to match across axles.

I was going uphill and had to reverse to give this S60 abit of space .Once I stopped I was able to move on so winter tyres were good from a halt position uphill.

Default Winter tyres fitted yet

I was going uphill and had to reverse to give this S60 abit of space .Once I stopped I was able to move on .So winter tyres were good from a reverse and halt position uphill. Also a clip from a hill climb .Nokians are on 17inch Alloys so the snow and ice nearly over the alloy .So I see why Steel narrower wheels and smaller tyres win here. But Nokians WRA4 on my V60 FWD do good in low temps on motorways. no difference to noise or economy as long as you don't throw the car about on Roundabouts and floor it .Good investment for me this year .I hope the attachment uploads this time.
