Default Advice please! What to look out for on a 2005 2.5T XC90

Hello everyone, I've been using this forum to try and get a rough idea of what to check for when buying a XC90 T5 S. I've got a few points to look out for (propshaft not turning when all wheels grounded, cold start problems = injectors on the way out - hope that's right?)
But was wondering if anyone could put together a 'checklist' ?

The model I'm picking up tomorrow is a 2005 - '05'http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_732wt_1139
I hope the price isn't 'too good to be true'! I'm guessing it's because it's a petrol?? But with full Volvo history (I've called the dealership to check all work that has been done) I hope it's a safe bet.

I appreciate any help/advice on what to look for before parting with my hard-earned!

Cheers

It was my understanding that 4wd was optional on the 2.5T, however I could be wrong, and its easy to check (no front to rear prop shaft!).

I'm presuming the AWD means All Wheel Drive? Which this model states it has, like you say - there's one way to find out!!

Cheers.

It certainly does. Worth a look just to check. If it has one, see if it turns by hand like the advice for the D5's. Not sure if it has the splined sleeve (the T6 doesn't), but if it does its worth checking. Look for water under the amplifier under the drivers seat.
If you can, get it plugged into an OBDII code reader and check for any "pending" fault codes.
Other than that just the usual make sure absolutely everything works as it should.

Thanks for those pointers, I've made a note to take with me.
I'll be driving straight to a Volvo specialist after collecting the car to have the belts and tensioners done as they're due on the next service (96k) but as the mileage stands at 92k I'd rather not wait till then. I will ask those guys to connect it to an OBDII code reader then.

Thanks again.

Sorry, forgot to ask, what am I looking for regards the splined sleeve? What does it look like and what shouldn't it look like!! If you know what I mean!

You can't see it. But if its worn your AWD wont work. Grabbing the prop shaft and trying to turn it is one of the tests, it shouldn't turn.
