I've just had a lovely 2008 volvo s40 off my father but one thing is bothering me . Is there any where on the dash that shows miles to empty it's weird not having one on a car thanks in advance

Yes, it's called a fuel gauge! Fill up before it reaches empty and you won't need to know how far to empty!
