Default No data connection

Hi . I brought my 69 v90cc in October. In November I followed advice and brought a really 60gb SIM card off eBay for the car. Installed it in the boot slot and updated my maps and a few apps, thinking all is great. I’ve used 1912 bytes according to the cars menu. So should have plenty left. But currently the car says no connection. The VOC is working fine. Have I done something wrong, does the sim need registering?

Quite often a pre-paid SIM like that only lasts 30 days.

Ok. Thanks. I thought it would run out when data was used up. If that’s the case. What’s the best deal for a sim.

This is the one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Mobil.../dp/B01M3VJ2B2 It has been cheaper than this so keep an eye out for a better price.
Put it in the car and it just works or put in your phone if you have two sim slots and use it as a hot spot.

Hi,

Mad Malc is correct, the 3 network 12gb or 24gb data sim is the best value one out there. Amazon are usually the cheapest but keep an eye on www.mymemory.co.uk as they sometimes have an offer on the same 3 data sim cards.

I've bought from both and have had no problems whatsoever.

but, better still if you're happy to download map updates somewhere else, is the free 200Mb/month sim from 3. It's plenty for normal use, though I guess if you like streaming music you'll need more. Just check on the sensus screen for how much data you've used (you can reset the counter) to inform your choice.
