Default New XC60 B5 petrol build tracker

Hi all...newbie having just ordered a brand new XC60 B5 R Design and never had a Volvo in my 40 years of motoring....first brand new car too...worked out cheaper than a used one due to some great discounts and service deals.

Quick question on build times etc....can I track the build process and arrival as per other manufacturers?

Thanks in advance and for the great information found on here....

I would be interested in this as well, after having just ordered a XC60 B5 petrol as well - (Momentum Trim).

I have asked the dealer this question, but yet to receive a reply.

Ordered last week, and ETA I have been given (at the moment) is Mid November.

Ian.

You used to be able to track with a My Volvo account login on the website, I was able to track mine in 2016. However, there were a lot of issues with the system, and it often seemed to mislead folk into thinking their car was nowhere near production, before suddenly being in transit, the dates could often vary wildely too. As a result, the system was taken down and I haven't heard of any replacement in this forum since then.

Not mentioned to me when I bought my car recently. So assume not... Dealer kept me updated regularly though.

Congrats on the purchase, I'm sure you will be happy with it.
As for the tracking side of things, Volvo dont seem as modern as other manufacturers on that front. With my previous Audi RS6, I was able to track it through build and delivery using the Audi App but with My XC60 Polestar, I was given an expected delivery date from the dealer but despite many attempts by the dealer to track and keep me updated, the first thing my dealer knew about my car arriving was when the loader turned up with my car on it, 1 month earlier than the quoted date.
Over all a good win but a little frustrating all the same.

Volvo don't seem to provide detailed build information to dealers.

Took delivery of a new XC60 on Thursday. Ordered end of May, delivery estimate was 'September., by end of July this had become 'mid-September'. Had a call from the salesman on September 1st to refine this to second week in September, when it did arrive.

According to the salesman the dealer is only informed of actual delivery date 48 hours before delivery.

It would be good for Volvo to provide build tracking to those who are interested.

Hi Rowlstar - any joy with your delivery?

I've not heard anything re: mine yet although still another month on the estimate.

So, it seems I will be waiting until (at least) December for my new XC60 now. Was due early November, but with new lockdown looks like will have to wait a little longer.
