Flock the dash. Then you get your grey colour and absolutely zero glare. Plus it's flock, it just looks cool.

I had considered pulling it out and spraying it with matt black/grey plasticote or similar.

Will peel and look like a cheap rush job. Flock kits are available around £30 so basically the same price as the paint.

This is the link for the door card repair:~
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa_fX-oZP6Q

Interesting approach and as I have to do this at some stage I'm looking for recommendations. Some ideas with this have been gained but I think that it can be improved upon particularly to the way that the panel insert edges are finished (perhaps piped/ sewn edge?)

Colour matching will be straight forward as the products are available- one point to watch for is the correct type of glue that is used-it has to be heat proof-probably a failing on the originals.
Bob.

RT, I've still got an xc70 in the garage with a beige interior, I can't just remember what the door cards are like but I don't think they had the cover trim separated....
I'll go out shortly and have a look and if they are reasonable ill get a few pictures for you, I don't want anything for them in fact I would go as far as to say if you have the doors cards they could come free with the rest of the car.... 😄😄

Hi Craig, thanks for the offer. I'd be happy to pay for the door cards if they're decent

And if the XC70 still has the front bumper I might be interested in that !!!

All the best, Sam
